my friend Anique, who is over in Berlin at the mo, sent me the link to this guy's site. Thanks Anique!!!! I frickin love this. I love the straight-forward feminisation of the male world, and I particularly love that the objects, in my opinion, remain masculine despite the textile medium. The crotchet causes the objects to become imperfect and wonky... particularly the chair + television... but what this does is give the sense of being used a lot and being well-loved... even the urinal. I guess this becomes slightly disturbing when applied to the guns and the animal heads, especially when they are such beautiful sculptures without any implied meanings... but to me that increases the depth of the artworks.
