Louise Weaver is a lovely textile lady from Sydney who covers poly-styrene / mixed media animal forms with crotchet. A modern play on taxidermy crossed with an overall sense of whimsical beauty, she captures wonderful personalities. When I was posting images of Nathan Vincent's work the other day I was reminded of Louise. She shows her work at Darren Knight Gallery every year or two. Julie Green, who I used to assist in her cane-weaving, first introduced her work to me saying that I might love it... um. She was right!
